Steves & Sons Spreads Holiday Cheer Through Richmond Habitat for Humanity

Steves & Sons Inc. Donates Doors and Holiday Wreaths to Help Break Poverty Cycle

Richmond, Va.—December 20, 2017. Steves & Sons Inc. today announced its partnership with the Richmond Habitat for Humanity, providing door donations for a future housing project as well as holiday wreaths for this year’s completed Richmond Habitat for Humanity home recipients.
In celebration of the holidays, Gregg Killelea, general manager of Steves & Sons Inc., Richmond, and local team members will play Santa and deliver holiday wreaths across the Richmond area on December 18 to twelve 2017 Habitat for Humanity home recipients. “We are looking forward to spreading holiday cheer and meeting these new Habitat homeowners,” said Killelea, “Being the season of giving, we are honored to partner with Richmond Habitat for Humanity and give doors to the local community.”In addition to the donations made in Richmond, Steves & Sons Inc. will donate doors to other Habitat for Humanity chapters where their manufacturing plants are based. “We are thrilled to support the remarkable work that Habitat for Humanity does in these local communities,” said Gloria Steves Dilley, vice president of Steves & Sons. “We have had the great pleasure of contributing materials to the San Antonio and Lebanon locations over the years and are excited to build a relationship with the Richmond chapter.”Steves & Sons Inc. recently celebrated its 150th year in business with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting and grand opening of its new 180,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art Richmond manufacturing plant at 5640 Lewis Road, Sandston, Virginia on October 18, 2017. Steves & Sons opened its original 62,000 square-foot Richmond manufacturing plant at 5325 Glen Alden Drive in 1983. The new plant—triple the size of the old one—is now fully functional with the addition of computerized operating systems.Door donations to the Richmond Habitat for Humanity chapter will go towards a housing project on 33rd Street in the Historic Church Hill District aimed for completion in the Spring of 2018. The Lebanon, TN and San Antonio, TX Habitat for Humanity donations will also go towards 2018 housing projects.
